Asset Registration and Tagging

Working closely with the client we complete a site survey and compile a list of all the assets at a particular location. Information about those assets, such as manufacturer, vendor, make, model, specifications etc. are all collated and we then create the asset register.

The asset register can be formatted to the client’s specification using their current system or supplied following our standard format.

Once the asset register is complete we then re-visit the site to number the assets. The process of numbering fixed assets is called tagging. An identification number (combination of alphabets, and numbers) is allocated to each asset. Tags can also contain bar code identification. Putting a barcode on an asset, as part of an automation process, means it can easily be tracked and identified. A tag verifies the existence of the asset and its location, which aids in maintenance, and provides a common ground for communication between departments and the end-user and recording the net book value of each asset in case of sale / scrapping.

Tags can be supplied as laser etched flexible laminate tags, black on white with one 4mm drill hole. This enables the tags to be connected to the asset using stainless steel chain and connectors making the asset easy to identify to the end-user.
